Thank Senator Tina Smith for introducing historic Boundary Waters protection legislation

On April 9th, 2025, United States Senator Tina Smith introduced the historic “Boundary Waters Wilderness Protection Act.” The Act permanently withdraws 225,504 acres of federal land and waters within the Superior National Forest, banning sulfide-ore copper mining in the headwaters of the Wilderness, Canada’s Quetico Provincial Park, and Minnesota’s only National Park – Voyageurs National Park. Join Sportsmen for the Boundary Waters in thanking Senator Tina Smith for championing this legislation that is a direct response to the surmounting threats surrounding America’s most visited Wilderness Area.
